Privacy

Short version: we keep only what the app needs to work.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture and profile identifier. We also store the topics you follow, your theme and daily email preferences, the time we last emailed you, and a timestamped record each time you submit a topic (used only to limit how quickly topics can be added). While you are signed in, your session records the IP address and browser details of the device you used. Browsing without an account stores nothing about you in our database.

How it is used

Your details are used only to keep you signed in, to show your personal list of topics, and to send you a daily email digest of headlines from those topics. The daily email is on by default; turn it off in settings or with the unsubscribe link in any email. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Topic names you add are public, and the feeds built from them are shared with everyone who follows the same topic.

Cookies and analytics

A session cookie keeps you signed in, and a small preference cookie remembers your light or dark theme (it is set for visitors without an account too). We use Vercel Analytics for aggregate page view counts; it does not use cookies and does not track you across other sites.

Third parties

Google handles sign-in, Resend delivers the daily email (it receives your email address and the email content), and Vercel hosts the site and provides analytics. Topic names you submit, along with public headlines, are sent to an AI model to check, group and summarize them. Your name and email are never sent to it. Headlines themselves are fetched from public news sources on a schedule, not on your behalf.

Deleting your data

To have your account and followed topics removed, contact the site owner from the address you signed in with.
